Hello!

The additional general meeting and hang out evening of Akateeminen Partiokilta will be held at Haliskylä Clubroom (Kuohukuja 1B), starting at 5:00 PM on Wednesday 17.12.2025. The meeting itself will start at 6:00 PM (you can also join remotely on Teams if you want). During the hang out evening we will cook tasty food, enjoy good company and play board games. We might also reserve a sauna shift, so bring your sauna gear if you want to go to sauna! You can also bring some board games that you would like to play.

Participants will be met at the front door at 5:00 PM, and once again before the meeting begins. The door to the stairwell is locked, so please arrive on time! If you can’t get in for some reason, please send a message about it to the APK Whatsapp group. If you are not in Whatsapp, you can send an email to hallitus@pariokilta.fi. We will try to ocasionally keep an eye on messages coming through these channels. You can find the club room by stepping through the Kuohukuja 1B building entrance to the stairwell. The armored door that is immediately on the left is the entrance to the club room.

At the meeting, additional board members will be elected for the 2026 term. Since no board was formed at the autumn meeting, we will try again at this additional meeting. Please join the meeting or send an email to hallitus@partiokilta.fi if you are interested in being a board member, so we can keep the association’s activities alive. A more detailed meeting agenda (and the Teams link) was sent to the APK mailing list.

Please register for the event latest at 3:00 PM on 17.12.2025 if you want to join (so that we can buy enough food). Please only register if you know that you are joining, so that we don’t buy too much food! You can also join without registering, but in that case there might not be enough food to serve for you as well.

Campfire trip to Vaarniemi 12th December

Come and enjoy the darkness and Christmas treats by the campfire with APK on Friday, December 12, starting at 6 p.m. at the Vaarniemi lean-to! You can get there by, for example, taking the Föli bus 6A, getting off at the Marsukatu stop, and walking to Mastotie. If you want to walk with the trip leaders from Mastotie to the Vaarniemi lean-to, arrive at the mast at the end of Mastotie at 6 p.m.

Bring a headlamp, reflector, mug, water bottle, sitting pad, and warm, weather-appropriate clothing that is suitable for sitting and cooking by the campfire. APK will provide participants with sweet and savory campfire snacks and warm glögi. The event is free for APK members and costs €5 for others. Please note that the trip leader’s dog will also be participating in the trip.

Nature walk in Ruissalo on November 29th

Welcome to APK’s November trip, which on this occasion will take us to Ruissalo! The plan is to walk in the magnificent forests next to the Botanical garden, then head to a viewpoint at nearby rocks to see the sunset if the weather allows and perhaps see some birds in the way (bring binoculars!).

We will offer some small snacks and warm drinks, but you can also bring your own snacks. Do bring a water bottle and your own cup for the hot drinks!

We will start the trip at 13:50 by meeting at the parking lot of the botanical garden. You can get there, for example, by taking Föli bus no. 28, which leaves from the Market Square stop A8 at 13:30 and arrives at the starting point at approximately 13:47.

Ruissalo can be a very windy place, so it is highly recommended to wear one or two more layers than usual. Bring at least a windproof jacket and windproof gloves!

Register for the trip here (latest 29.11 at 12:00), so that we can buy the right amount of food for the trip. The trip is open to anyone interested in trips in nature!

Hang out evening on Wednesday 19th

Now that the weather isn’t so great for outdoor activities, it’s the perfect time to hang out indoors! So come and join the other APK members for a chill evening at the Haliskylä clubroom at Kuohukuja 1B on Wednesday, November 19, starting at 6 p.m. During the evening, we can cook together, play board games, and plan APK’s future activities. The organizers will provide the ingredients for the food, but it’s a good idea to bring an own board game or borrow one from the library. The event is free of charge and is intended for APK members.

Registration is required so that we can reserve enough food for the event and take into account any special dietary requirements of the participants. The registration form is open until midnight on 18.11. Register here!

Try skateboarding with APK on November 16th!

Have you always wanted to try skateboarding? Is your inner Tony Hawk waiting to be unleashed? Now’s your chance! We’ll get to try skateboarding with guidance from @7skateboarding. The session is open to all skill levels, so no prior experience is needed. There will be a limited number of loaner boards, helmets, and other protective gear available. Please bring shoes and clothing suitable for skateboarding, and your own helmet if you have one. You’re also welcome to bring any other personal gear. Participation requires wearing a helmet at all times.

Location: Cube Skate Hall, Ruissalontie 37–39, 20200 Turku. You can get there by bus 3 (departs from Kauppatori, platform A4 at 09:29) or bus 28 (departs from Kauppatori, platform A8 at 09:27). Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the session starts.

Trip to the Tuorla Grove

Join APK and Kääntöpiiri for a trip to the Tuorla grove on Saturday 25th October! The plan is to walk a 2 km trail to a campfire site near the Tuorla Agricultural Institute, where we will enjoy a small snack. After this, there is the option to continue on the Time Travel Trail (1.4 km) or, if the first part was enough fresh air, to head back to the city center by bus.

We will leave together from the Brahenkatu stop (112) on bus 705 departing at 10:57. You can also come directly to the Soukkio stop (6143), where our bus should arrive at 11:18. The path is not circular, so please keep that in mind if you are coming straight to the Soukkio stop.

We offer a small snack at the campfire but if you tend to get hungry, please pack some food with you. It is your responsibility to have enough drinking water on you. The trip will be held no matter the weather, so dress appropriately.

Registration for the trip is binding, cancellations and tardiness should be notified as soon as possible to hallitus@partiokilta.fi.

Mushroom picking trip on Thursday, September 18

Join APK on a mushroom picking trip to Maaria in Turku on Thursday, September 18! On the trip, we will try to find the most common edible mushrooms in the forest and learn how to identify them. The trip will begin with a meeting at the parking lot next to Myllyojansilta at 6 p.m. at Paimalantie 369, Turku. You can reach the starting point, for example by taking Föli bus 28, which departs from Kauppatori at 5:35 p.m. Please note that the buses run only once an hour.

The mushroom trip is free of charge, but you must be a member of APK to participate (instructions for joining: https://www.partiokilta.fi/en/join-us/). No registration is required for the excursion. For the trip, you will need a mushroom basket or bag, a small knife (preferably a mushroom knife), and water and snacks as needed. It is also a good idea to get a mushroom guide or app to help you to identify mushrooms. Waterproof shoes are recommended for the trip.

Please note that the trip is not a mushroom training course and everyone is responsible for the mushrooms they collect. However, the trip guides can assist you in identifying mushrooms. Hangout and camping at Kupittaa park on 13.9.

How does camping on the hustle and bustle of the city sound like?

Would you like to learn how to set up a tent and use a Trangia?

Come hang out at Kupittaa park and get to know APK and meet new and old APK members!

The evening will be spent in chill atmosphere and by spending time together. The event is free and open to everyone. There will be a possibility to cook food with trangias and practice putting up a tent. Simultaneously you will get to see the gear APK rents out.

We will gather at Kupitta park at 18 o’clock. You can come for a short visit during the evening or stay the whole night. For those who wish the event will continue until the next morning because there is an opportunity to camp in the park. There are limited number or tents, sleeping bags and mattresses and Trangias so please, bring your own if you have one. The gear will be borrowed at first come, first served policy.

APK will reserve something small to eat for those how have signed up for the event. Please, bring your own food if you would like to cook with a Trangia. Dress for the weather.

APK goes kayaking on Wednesday, June 11th

Join APK for a relaxing kayaking trip on Wednesday, June 11th at 5 PM. We will kayak for about 2 hours and a maximum of 10 km. Along the way, you can spot birds and admire nature and the landscape of Turku from a different perspective. The direction of the route will be chosen based on wind conditions. The kayaking center can be reached by bus number 13, which departs from the Market Square stop C2 at 4:17 PM and arrives at the Ratsukonkatu stop at 4:33 PM. No prior kayaking experience is required, but swimming ability is essential. You can leave small valuable items into a safe deposit box at the kayaking center during the kayaking, while other items can be left in the changing room, which is not secured. After kayaking, those interested can head to the Ispoinen beach next to the kayaking center for an evening swim and snacks.
