APK easter cottage trip 2-6.4.2026

Welcome to join our easter cottage trip on 2-6.4.2026! The cottage is called “Vienola” (https://www.turku.fi/en/outdoor-recreation-and-hiking/campsites). At the cottage we will relax in good company, eat well, enjoy the surrounding nature and have sauna. At the cottage it’s possible to for example play various ball games and frisbee golf, go rowing or make an evening campfire. The cottage is located at the address Peltolantie 211, Naantali. The cottage has electricity and running water. There are mattresses, pillows and duvets at the cottage, but you will need to take your own bed sheets and pillowcase with you. It’s also possible to sleep outdoors near the cottage, and APK has a few tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping mats that can be borrowed if requested.

On Thursday 2.4 you can arrive at the cottage from 17:00 onwards. The cottage is about 5 km walking distance from Rymättylä. You can get to Rymättylä with the Föli bus “N2”, which departs from Naantali (you can get from Turku to Naantali with buses 6 or 6A). You can also come there by car. We will decide about possible carpools etc. later with the participants. On Monday 6.4 we will leave the cottage around midday. You will need to buy the Föli bus tickets yourself.

Packing list:
-Waterproof and warm clothes for outdoor activities

-Personal hygiene stuff (e.g. toothbrush) and medicine

Optional equipment:
-Board-, card- or outdoor-games

-Insulating sitting mat for day trips
-Crocs or other light shoes (e.g for ice swimming)
-Snacks/treats
-Tent, sleeping bag etc. (outdoor camping gear) if you want to sleep outdoors
-Phone and charger

The trip costs 50€. To join the trip you need to be a member of APK, and membership costs 10€ https://www.partiokilta.fi/en/join-us/. The price of the cottage trip comes from the rent of the cottage and the estimated price of food divided among the participants. You can also join the trip for a shorter time, in which case the trip costs 15€ per day (24h).

There are limited spots for the trip! The registration closes on Tuesday 31.3 (or once the trip is full). The registration is binding and you will have to pay the trip costs even if you don’t show up (unless you have a good reason to cancel e.g becoming ill). APK events are alcohol free.

🌲 APK’s Spring Hike to Katariinanlaakso 15.3

Shake off the winter cobwebs and join the Academic Scout Guild for a breath of fresh air! As the days get longer and the trails start to peek out from under the snow, there’s no better time to explore the beautiful nature of Turku with some excellent company. The total length of the hike is approximately 5 kilometers.

Strap on your boots! We’re heading out on Sunday, March 15th. Meet the crew at the Katariinanlaakson parkkipaikka (Katariina Parking Area) at 13:00. We have plenty of daylight to conquer the route, so let’s make the most of it!

This event is completely free for everyone! Come enjoy the hike and the vibes at no cost.
🚌 Getting There
Getting to the meeting point is super easy with Föli! From the city center, head to Market Square (Kauppatori) stop C2 and catch the 9A bus towards Uittamo at 12:42. Hop off at the final stop (Uittamo päätepysäkki) at 12:57, and it’s just a 1-minute walk to the parking area.

Welcome to APK’s ice skating afternoon on Saturday 28.02.2026!⛸️❄️

Strap on your skates and get ready to glide! We are heading to the Kupittaa Ice Skating Rink for a classic winter afternoon on Saturday, February 28th. Whether you are a graceful pro or just trying to stay upright, come enjoy the fresh air and great company!

We’ll gather together to enjoy the ice, and APK will provide some light snacks and drinks to keep the energy high. Just a reminder to bring your own reusable cup for the juice to help us keep the event eco-friendly! Please note that the event will take place weather permitting.
We will all meet up at the Kupittaa park at 12:00 PM before heading to the rink together. The easiest way to reach us is by taking bus 22, which departs from the Market Square (City Centre) stop B7 at 11:38 AM. It’s a quick trip that gets you to the park just in time for the meetup.

Welcome to APK’s Sauna and Ice Swimming Evening on Thursday 19.02.2026! 🔥❄️

We are heading to Ruissalo for a proper Finnish winter experience with warm sauna, refreshing ice swimming and great company. The event will take place in a public sauna owned by Saaronniemen Saukot https://saaronniemensaukot.fi/?page_id=176. Because it is a public sauna, there will be other people there as well and it is mandatory to bring a swimsuit. The sauna has an 8€ entrance fee that you will need to pay.

We will meet at the sauna parking lot at 17:00. You can get there by taking Föli bus 28, which departs from the Market Square bus stop A8 at 16:30. Hop off the bus at the bus stop “Iso-Pukintie”.

Since the sauna space is limited, we will limit the number of participants. Please register latest on 18.02, although the registration will close sooner if the spaces are filled. Only register if you know that you are coming, so that you don’t prevent others from joining! APK board meeting and hang out evening 16.2

In the middle of winter and busy schedules, it’s wonderful to pause for a moment together – to enjoy warm company and freshly baked treats ❄️✨
APK’s February board meeting will be held on Monday 16.2 starting at 16:00 at Itäinen Pitkäkatu 54. After the official meeting (or perhaps alongside it!), we will bake something delicious together, for example traditional Finnish laskiaispulla (Shrove buns).

24.1. Day trip to Naantali

Welcome to APK’s January day trip on Saturday 24.1. We will go to Naantali, where we will explore the sights of the town and the nearby nature. Naantali contains, e.g., Moomin World (which is closed in winter) and the president’s summer residence, Kultaranta. During the hike we will find a scenic spot (e.g., one of Naantali’s many beaches) to eat some snacks.

We will offer some small snacks and warm drinks, but you can also bring your own snacks. Bring at least a water bottle and your own cup for the hot drinks!

We will start the trip at 12:00 from the Naantali bus stop (number 3018). You can get there by taking, e.g., the Föli bus number 6, which departs from the Market Square bus stop A1 at 11:15 and arrives at the meeting point at approximately 11:58.

The weather in Naantali can be very windy, so we recommend bringing many warm layers and windproof clothing.

The trip is free for APK members and costs 10€ for everyone else. You can also join APK immediately and then join the trip for free! The APK membership fee is €10, and instructions for joining can be found here.

Additional general meeting and hang out evening on 17.12.

Hello!

The additional general meeting and hang out evening of Akateeminen Partiokilta will be held at Haliskylä Clubroom (Kuohukuja 1B), starting at 5:00 PM on Wednesday 17.12.2025. The meeting itself will start at 6:00 PM (you can also join remotely on Teams if you want). During the hang out evening we will cook tasty food, enjoy good company and play board games. We might also reserve a sauna shift, so bring your sauna gear if you want to go to sauna! You can also bring some board games that you would like to play.

Participants will be met at the front door at 5:00 PM, and once again before the meeting begins. The door to the stairwell is locked, so please arrive on time! If you can’t get in for some reason, please send a message about it to the APK Whatsapp group. If you are not in Whatsapp, you can send an email to hallitus@pariokilta.fi. We will try to ocasionally keep an eye on messages coming through these channels. You can find the club room by stepping through the Kuohukuja 1B building entrance to the stairwell. The armored door that is immediately on the left is the entrance to the club room.

At the meeting, additional board members will be elected for the 2026 term. Since no board was formed at the autumn meeting, we will try again at this additional meeting. Please join the meeting or send an email to hallitus@partiokilta.fi if you are interested in being a board member, so we can keep the association’s activities alive. A more detailed meeting agenda (and the Teams link) was sent to the APK mailing list.

Please register for the event latest at 3:00 PM on 17.12.2025 if you want to join (so that we can buy enough food). Please only register if you know that you are joining, so that we don’t buy too much food! You can also join without registering, but in that case there might not be enough food to serve for you as well.

Campfire trip to Vaarniemi 12th December

Come and enjoy the darkness and Christmas treats by the campfire with APK on Friday, December 12, starting at 6 p.m. at the Vaarniemi lean-to! You can get there by, for example, taking the Föli bus 6A, getting off at the Marsukatu stop, and walking to Mastotie. If you want to walk with the trip leaders from Mastotie to the Vaarniemi lean-to, arrive at the mast at the end of Mastotie at 6 p.m.

Bring a headlamp, reflector, mug, water bottle, sitting pad, and warm, weather-appropriate clothing that is suitable for sitting and cooking by the campfire. APK will provide participants with sweet and savory campfire snacks and warm glögi. The event is free for APK members and costs €5 for others. Please note that the trip leader’s dog will also be participating in the trip.

Nature walk in Ruissalo on November 29th

Welcome to APK’s November trip, which on this occasion will take us to Ruissalo! The plan is to walk in the magnificent forests next to the Botanical garden, then head to a viewpoint at nearby rocks to see the sunset if the weather allows and perhaps see some birds in the way (bring binoculars!).

We will offer some small snacks and warm drinks, but you can also bring your own snacks. Do bring a water bottle and your own cup for the hot drinks!

We will start the trip at 13:50 by meeting at the parking lot of the botanical garden. You can get there, for example, by taking Föli bus no. 28, which leaves from the Market Square stop A8 at 13:30 and arrives at the starting point at approximately 13:47.

Ruissalo can be a very windy place, so it is highly recommended to wear one or two more layers than usual. Bring at least a windproof jacket and windproof gloves!

Register for the trip here (latest 29.11 at 12:00), so that we can buy the right amount of food for the trip. The trip is open to anyone interested in trips in nature!

Hang out evening on Wednesday 19th

Now that the weather isn’t so great for outdoor activities, it’s the perfect time to hang out indoors! So come and join the other APK members for a chill evening at the Haliskylä clubroom at Kuohukuja 1B on Wednesday, November 19, starting at 6 p.m. During the evening, we can cook together, play board games, and plan APK’s future activities. The organizers will provide the ingredients for the food, but it’s a good idea to bring an own board game or borrow one from the library. The event is free of charge and is intended for APK members.

Registration is required so that we can reserve enough food for the event and take into account any special dietary requirements of the participants. The registration form is open until midnight on 18.11. Register here!
