On the last weekend of May, APK goes hiking in Teijo National Park! It will be a relaxed hike, during which we will get to enjoy diverse forest and lake landscapes, cook together, swim in Matildanjärvi and go to a sauna.

This hike is great for both beginners and more experienced hikers who want to spend a fun and relaxing weekend in the woods. However, it is important to have suitable clothes and equipment for the trip. So you need to bring at least water-resistant outdoor clothes and hiking shoes, as well as a rucksack where you can carry all the necessary equipment. APK has a couple of sleeping bags and sleeping pads as well as tents to borrow, so you don’t have to own all the equipment yourself. The organizers of the hike also will take care of the camping stoves. An e-mail will be sent to those who have signed up for the trip during the trip week, where they will be told more about practical matters.

The departure for the hike is on Friday 26th May around 4:30 p.m., and on Sunday we will be back in Turku in the early evening. We’ll try to travel to Teijo by carpooling, if enough participants have a car. If this is not possible, we will travel there by public transport. The departure would then be on Friday from Kupittaa at 4:30 p.m., from where we would first travel by train to Salo and from there jump on the bus leaving at 5:10 p.m. towards Teijo. The return would be on Sunday by bus from Ylönkylä at 16:10 to Salo, from where we would return to Turku by train.

The price of the hike is 15 euros for APK members and 20 euros for non-members. We offer the participants meals which we prepare together during the hike. You should take your own snacks with you on the trip. The transportation costs are at own expense; if we travel with carpools, the sharing of fuel costs is agreed by car group, and if traveling by public transport, the price of the bus and train tickets are around 18 € in total.

APK will organize a trip on Saturday 20th May to Kuullaanpolku in Raisio. The trail is 13 km and includes some rocky terrain, so appropriate footwear is recommended. We’ll rest and enjoy some snacks near the observation tower.

We will depart together from the Kauppatori E2 bus stop at 12.22 pm. Please arrive on time. We will return to Turku in the afternoon or evening with Föli bus number 300. If you’ll arrive by your own ride, the address is Kisakatu 3, Raisio.

The trip is free for APK members, for others the participation fee is 5 €. You can also become a member while registering or during the hike. The APK will provide some snacks for participants at the end of the trip, but we would recommend everyone to eat lunch before leaving. APK organises a board game evening on Thursday, April 20^th, beginning at 6 pm. So come and play board games together at the club room in Haliskylä (Kuohukuja 1B)! At the club room, there are different board games available, and you can also take your own game with you. We’ll provide some snacks for the participants.

We will make a trip to the Ankka-Nautela nature trail on Sunday 2nd of April. The length of the nature trail is about 8 kilometers and the total walking distance during the trip is about 11 kilometers. At the beginning of the trip, we will also visit the Nautelankoski Museum, which is free for visitors.

We will departure together from the Puutori PT4 bus stop on Sunday 2nd of April at 12.40 pm by Föli bus 402. Please arrive on time. We will arrive at the Nautelankoski Museum at about 13.15 pm. We will return to Turku in the afternoon or evening with Föli bus number 6.

The trip to Ankka-Nautela is free for APK members, for others, the participation fee is 5 €. You can also become a member when registering or on the spot. The APK will provide some snacks for participants at the end of the trip, but we would prefer everyone to eat lunch at home before leaving. APK organises an ice swimming event with sauna on Wednesday 22^nd March from 5 pm – welcome to relax with us! The sauna is located in Ruissalo and the address is Tammirannantie 39. You can join the event by bus number 8 which leaves from Kauppatori-bus stop A8 for example at 16.35 and 17.35. The participation fee for the event is 5 euros for APK-members and 10 euros for non-members. You can become a member of APK on our website or on the spot.

Please take at least an own towel, swimsuit, and water bottle with you. You can also bring some snacks if you want to. This event suits experienced winter swimmers as well as beginners!

The APK March trip will take place on Saturday 11th March and be to Katariinanlaakso.  Trip is around 4 km and there is a possibility to visit a bird tower. You can join the trip with a Föli-bus 13A from Puutori –bus stop (286, Maariankatu) at 11.16. We will arrive at the Katariinalakso parking spot at 11.40 and start our journey together. If you are coming with your own ride, address is Sigridinpolku 5, Turku.

Trip is free of charge for our members, for others the trip costs 5 €. You can also join APK on our website or on sight. APK offers small snacks to participants. Please bring own water bottle, a mug and more snacks if needed. Remember to wear weatherlike clothes.

APK goes sledding to Hirvensalo on Wednesday 1^st March! On the trip, we’ll enjoy the speed on the sledding hill and eat traditional Shrovetide buns (laskiaispulla).

We’re going to leave from Kauppatori (platform D4) by Föli bus 15A at 17.24. If you’re coming by car or bike, the address is Kakskerrantie 111, Turku. We’ll meet at the parking lot of the Hirvensalo Ski Centre at 17.40 from where we’ll go to the sledding hill together.

The trip is free of charge for the APK members and for others, the fee is 5 €. You can become a member also during the trip or upon registration. APK will provide Shrovetide buns and juice for the participants. Please take your own water bottle, mug, and sled with you (creativity and crafting skills can be exploited if you don’t own a sled or snow glider).

APK February trip takes us to Saaronniemi in Ruissalo on Saturday 11^th February. On the trip we’ll first walk about 4 kilometres from Honkapirtti to Kolkannokka, where we’ll grill sausages.

We’re going to leave from Kauppatori (platform A8) by Föli bus 8 at 11.30. We’ll arrive at Honkapirtti around 11.45 after which we’ll head into the forest. If you’re coming by car or bike, the address for Honkapirtti is Albert Ravilan raitti, Turku. Please arrive at 11.45 at the latest.

APK will provide sausages and warm drinks for the participants. The trip is free of charge for the APK members and for others, the fee is 5 €. You can become a member also during the trip or upon registration. Please take your own water bottle and mug with you and remember to wear weather appropriate clothing. On Saturday 10^th December, APK goes to the Botanic Garden in Ruissalo. On the trip, we’ll first walk a 3 kilometres nature trail, after which we’ll go and see the Botanic Garden. We’re going to leave from Kauppatori (platform A8) by Föli bus 8 at 11.27. If you’ll come by car or bike, we’ll meet at Ruissalon puistotie 215 at 11.45.

Everyone has to pay their own entrance fee to the Botanic Garden (students 6 €, adults 9 €), but otherwise the trip is free of charge for APK members. We’ll provide a little snack for the participants. Please take your own water bottle and mug with you and remember to choose clothes according to the weather. You can also join only the trekking part of the trip if you are not interested in visiting the Botanic Garden. Buses number 8 to Turku leave from the Botanic Garden once in an hour (13.07, 14.07 etc.).
